Carers MK

Do you look after someone who cannot manage without you because they are ill, frail or have a disability, poor mental health or addiction? This could be a family member, friend or neighbour. Or do you look after a child with additional needs?

If so, you are a carer and Carers MK can support you.

Central Milton Keynes Medical Centre is working with Carers MK, your local carer support organisation, to support carers at the practice. Please make the surgery aware of your caring role to make sure you are on the carers’ register. This will enable staff to be aware of your caring situation and the challenges that can sometimes accompany that role.

Carers MK will be able to offer you information, advice, guidance and support regarding your caring role. For more information contact Carers MK on 01908 231703, visit their website at www.carersmiltonkeynes.org or email them at mail@carersmiltonkeynes.org.

Carers MK would like to be aware of your caring role even if you don’t feel that you need support at the moment. By registering with Carers MK you can access support when you need it. You can receive a monthly email with information about the service and as a reminder that they are here to support you.

You can pick up a registration form for Carers MK in the surgery or register via their website.

In addition to the service for adult carers aged over 18, there are Young Carers and Young Adult Carers services to support young people aged 8 to 25 who are in a caring role at home.
